Bhutan is known as Druk Yul or the Land of the Thunder Dragon. Covering the most sacred and the mightiest mountains of the Himalayas, the Kingdom of Bhutan is a land of mystery and a journey back in time for some, and to others Bhutan’s traditional society in accord with modernity manifests its rich and vibrant culture. Its history steeped in sacred tantric Buddhism and the people's living resonate harmony between human and nature. The colorful costumes and people during the traditional Bhutanese festivals will fascinate you. Bhutan offers superb natural scenery and some of the best trekking landscape on earth. And, Chapell TT operates value-based tours and treks that are environmentally and ecologically friendly, socially and culturally acceptable, and client-oriented. So we call ECO-TOURS (ETO) and ECO-TREKS (ETR).
The tourism in Bhutan was privatized by the Government in 1991. Since then the Government has stressed on a strong policy of high value, low impact/volume tourism. Bhutan has always been aware of adverse impacts due to unrestricted flow of tourist on its unique culture and traditions, and pristine environment. Therefore, number of tourist visiting Bhutan is regulated to a manageable level. The control on tourist is exercised through a policy of government regulated tourist tariff for packaged tours and treks.
